The Greening Up the Mountains Festival is a heritage arts festival that celebrates the arrival of Spring through both traditional and contemporary forms of Appalachian art, music, food, and beverage which honor our community and local artisans.
The town's annual July 4 Fireworks in Sylva should begin at dark (generally around 9:45 p.m.) and are visible from various locations throughout downtown Sylva and the immediate surrounding areas. Free concert from 6:30-9:30 p.m., by Gotcha Groove (classic rock/pop/soul/beach covers) at Bridge Park in Sylva, N.C. Bring a chair or blanket. Pets must be on a leash. Food and beverage vendors on site. No smoking, vaping, coolers or tents allowed. Children's activities from 4-8 p.m. by the Jackson County Parks and Recreation Department. Fireworks at dark (approximately 9:30 p.m.).

Kick off the holidays with Christmas in Sylva! Experience the joy of the town's holiday centerpiece as it is brought to life with twinkling Christmas lights. The event will take place downtown on Main Street at the foot of the Historic Courthouse at 6 p.m.

Organized by the Main Street Sylva Association, downtown Sylva's annual Christmas Parade takes place along Historic Main Street and offers plenty of holiday cheer along with marching bands, floats featuring community organizations and a chance to see Santa!
